Aibel Celebrates Opening of Its New Building

Aibel’s new building at Risøy is now complete. Yesterday, the company celebrates the opening of its new, modern and eco-friendly offices for more than 600 people.

Aibel is a leading service company, with many long-term assignments in the oil and gas industry. The company has more than 5,500 employees globally. About 2,000 of these now work in or from Haugesund, making this Aibel’s largest division. Many important, large-scale modification assignments are being handled from Haugesund, where the project organisations now have a modern building that has been tailored for inter-disciplinary collaboration between countries and locations.

Space for more employees

Aibel has seen amazing growth recently. In Haugesund alone, the number of employees has increased by almost 200 people just this year. This new building enables us to continue this growth, as well as ensuring that our employees have a pleasant and secure working environment,” says CEO Jan Skogseth.

A number of guests have been invited to the opening today, which will include a guided tour of the new offices.

 Environmentally friendly

The new offices in Risøy have been developed in two stages. The first stage, which was completed in the beginning of 2012, has office space for 288 people. The latest, newly completed stage has office space for a further 340. This is the first office building in the Haugesund region to have received an environmental certification “B”. It features excellent insulation and heating by means of heat pumps. Electricity consumption for lighting and ventilation is regulated using sensors.

The building is owned by Garpeskjær Eiendom and contractor was Veidekke.

Aibel is a leading service company within the oil and gas industry and is established in renewable energy.

The company`s around 5500 employees in Norway and abroad are engaged onshore and offshore. With 8 locations in Norway, the company is located near the customers. In addition to operations in Norway, Aibel is also located in Thailand, Singapore, United Kingdom, Denmark and Egypt.
