Apply to Upgrade Fire Detection Systems on Statfjord B and C

Apply has been awarded a contract from Statoil for upgrade of the fire and gas detection systems on the Statfjord B and C platforms in the North Sea. The contract includes upgrade and change-out of control systems, field instrumentation and cables on the platforms.

Extended life of offshore installations results in an increasing requirement for upgrading equipment and systems for safe and efficient operations according to current regulations. The implementation of new solutions and technology also ensures access to spare parts and system knowledge at the same time as regularity is improved and maintenance costs are reduced.

The scope of work in the Statfjord B and C contract includes engineering and procurement of new systems and solutions, management of functionality and technical interfaces on the platforms as well as testing and installation of new systems and equipment offshore.

Apply has accumulated experience in handling complex interfaces with regard to upgrade of control systems of production facilities in operation and we are very pleased about the confidence shown by Statoil with regard to this extensive modification contract on Statfjord. We look forward to working closely with Statoil’s team in this project,” says Frederik Hvistendahl, managing director in Apply Sørco.

The contract value is approximately 580 MNOK (USD 101 million) and has the duration to December 2015. The contract engages around 200 people within our onshore and offshore organization and the work starts immediately. This is the largest modification contract awarded to Apply ever.
