Students Promote Renewable Energy Scheme

Students Promote Renewable Energy Scheme (UK)

Poole Tidal Energy Partnership has been generating interest to harness the power of the ocean.

Students from the Bournemouth University are promoting the renewable energy scheme in order to help PTEP to get community support for the project.

The power produced from tides in Poole Harbour could be used to nourish social housing, power street lighting or could be fed into the national power grid.

Around five hundred people are backing the project bidding for funds to support it.

According to Mr. Hadley, PTEP director, the company has made a contact with several communities in France, which may secure the funds for the project.

PTEP is hosting an event at Poole’s Dolphin Shopping Centre on Sunday January 15 to talk about the tidal energy project and answer any inquiries.
