Scotland to Create Fabrication Alliance for Renewables

Across the UK, businesses in areas such as Humberside, Merseyside and Teesside have formed alliances to deliver renewable projects, but no such coalition exists in Scotland.

In order to create the Scottish Fabrication Alliance for Renewables, IFAB, the subsidiary of Highlands group, has signed a deal with the Steel Engineering of Renfrew.

The reason for creating the alliance is to kick-start better collaboration between Scottish firms with the main goal to attract as many as possible new members.

Niall Stewart, chief executive of Scottish Renewables, said the new alliance was exactly the kind of partnership the sector needs more of if the country’s businesses are to capture the biggest possible share of the renewable windfall in coming years.
