The role
As the temporary Engineer Marine Systems Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) at Damen Naval, you will dive into the analysis and assessment of marine systems specifications. Your role will involve designing marine systems (PI&D) and crafting comprehensive system descriptions. Additionally, you will provide vital support to stakeholders on technical aspects and queries within projects, ensuring alignment with project requirements, customer needs, technical guidelines, and regulations.
Key accountabilities
As the temporary Engineer Marine Systems P&ID, your key responsibilities will include:
- Analyse and assess technical specifications and requirements related to marine piping systems, purchased components, used yard- and project standards, and design processes.
- Develop system diagrams (P&ID’s), System Descriptions, Calculations, and applicable relevant other engineer documents, for marine piping systems, based on customer requirements, regulations, and Damen Naval engineering standards, within specified timelines and quality standards.
- Addressing feedback from customers and Class.
- Update basic engineering documents and provide information and guidance to relevant internal and external stakeholders as needed.
- Actively seek multidisciplinary interaction to ensure project solutions are in the best interest of overall project objectives.
- Identify shortcomings, propose improvements, and contribute to project design reviews.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable requirements and specifications.
Skills & experience
To excel as the temporary Engineer Marine Systems P&ID, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:
- Technical Bachelor or Master degree combined with at least two years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with 2D and 3D CAD systems and marine systems engineering, preferably in naval ships or offshore installations.
- Experience with marine systems engineering on board (naval) vessels and with complex projects and statutory bodies.
- Good command of the English language both written and verbal. Good command of the Dutch language both written and verbal is a pre.
- Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
- Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required and candidates with NL/EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
