The role 
Are you passionate about innovation management and eager to build business and market propositions in a dynamic and collaborative environment? Damen is searching for an Internal Venturing Manager. In this role, you will focus on fostering internal innovation by supporting and guiding business ideas and internal ventures through the innovation and investment management process. This position emphasizes driving innovation from within the organisation and leading the Damen organisation to explore new ideas and solutions. 

You will play a pivotal role in identifying and nurturing internal opportunities, therefore you will collabore closely with various teams across Damen’s divisions. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Venturing, you will help drive internal innovations to ventures (projects), ensuring that these ventures are aligned with Damen's strategic goals and create the most value. This involves coaching colleagues, managing innovation pipelines, and implementing projects that push the boundaries of what the Damen organisation can achieve. 

Key accountabilities 
To support and guide internal innovation and corporate venturing activities, we expect you to: 

• Identify and assess internal innovation opportunities and guide them from concept to execution. 

• Work with multidisciplinary teams to align internal ventures with Damen’s broader strategic objectives. 

• Support and manage innovation projects, helping colleagues overcome challenges and explore new avenues for growth. 

• Facilitate collaboration between various departments and divisions to ensure seamless execution of innovation initiatives. 

• Monitor internal ventures, ensuring progress is according to plan. 

• Assist in creating (internal) business cases, investment propositions and development paths for new internal initiatives. 

• Actively participate in the growth and scaling of internal ventures, ensuring their success. 

Additionally, you will be involved in: 

• Researching internal trends and emerging technologies. 

• Managing internal communication systems to track innovation progress. 

• Coordinating internal workshops, ideation processes and events to promote innovation culture across the organisation. 

• Supporting progress reporting and facilitating approvals for internal innovation projects. 

Skills & experience 

• Bachelor's or master's degree in a Technical Study, Innovation Management, or a related field. Or background in Business, Economics with strong affinity with Technology and/or Maritime businesses. 

• 4 to 7 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a related kind of business (innovation management, (Start up) ecosystems,). 

• Experience with the maritime industry or technical sectors alike is a plus. 

• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience operating at all organizational levels. 

• Proven ability to guide and coach colleagues through complex projects. 

• Strong interest in venturing, technology and innovation, and a knack for identifying new business opportunities. 

• Team player, flexible, and able to thrive in a dynamic environment. 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Dutch and English.
