Within this ambitious environment, Damen Digital Solutions and Green Solutions are two of our entities. Damen Digital Solutions is indispensable in realizing Damen's ambition to become the world’s most sustainable and digitally connected shipyard. Damen Digital Solutions is an independent startup company within the Damen Group, consisting of a multidisciplinary team of 30 enthusiastic individuals who thrive on innovation. The activities are divided into three main areas: on-board automation, remote monitoring, and simulations. These technologies contribute to a long-term vision of autonomous functionalities.

Green Solutions is a young, innovative company within the Damen Shipyards Group, with a strong focus on supporting the maritime industry in reducing its environmental footprint. It’s their goal to make a positive environmental impact now by making existing vessels, as well as new builds, more fuel-efficient. To achieve this, they offer their own products, such as an Air Lubrication System, and collaborate on special projects using third-party technologies, such as Carbon Capture or Wind Assisted Propulsion.

The Role:

As a Controller, you will be responsible for the financial management and reporting of three entities within the group. These three entities are focused on two of the main pillars of the Damen Group strategy: Digitalization and Sustainability. In this role, you will work closely with the Managing Directors of each entity, providing both practical support and strategic financial insights.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a sparring partner for the Managing Directors of three entities, providing strategic financial insights.
• Develop and implement financial policies and controls.
• Conduct financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Prepare financial reports and present findings to senior management.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with venture teams to provide financial guidance and support.
• Monitor financial performance and identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in a financial control role, preferably within a dynamic and innovative environment.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in financial software and MS Office Suite.
• Experience in the maritime or industrial sector is a plus.
