The role

As an Infra & Networking Specialist (Interim) you will play a key role in supporting business processes through designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructures and security solutions. As we build highly advanced naval vessels, we rely on you to provide us with a solid network and security solutions that keep out prying eyes. You are adept at implementing and managing load balancing solutions for optimal performance and availability. You are also experienced in monitoring and analyzing network performance, troubleshooting problems, and implementing improvements. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals and ensure efficient execution of network and security initiatives. We are looking for an interim professional who can join on short notice for a period of one year and is willing to participate in our 24/7 standby rotation schedule.

Key accountabilities
As the interim Infra & Networking Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:

• Provide third-line IT support related to complex infrastructure incidents and resolve infrastructure (monitoring) alerts.
• Participate in multidisciplinary projects with IT, Business and Security to optimize service delivery.
• Prepare and execute the (daily) operational maintenance infrastructure activities.
• Design and implement non-standard infrastructure and security changes.
• Deliver life cycle management by ensuring the infrastructure components and documentation is up to date.
• Maintain effective communication and collaboration with business users, IT colleagues and external partners.
• Participate in our 24/7 standby rotation schedule.

Skills & experience
To excel as an interim Infra & Networking Specialist you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

• 5+ years of experience administrating network and security solutions in large, multinational companies.
• Experience managing virtualization and cloud solutions: Vmware, Nutanix
• Experience managing access management solutions: Aruba Clearpass
• Experience managing firewall solutions: Checkpoint or Fortinets.
• Design and implement IT Security measures in fixed and wireless networks.
• Experience supporting physical networking hardware / implementing/applying industry network methodologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or, computer engineering or a related field.
• Good command of the Dutch and English language both written and verbal.

• Excellent references antecedents as a pre-assigment security screening is part of the recruitment procedure.

• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with (also) a non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible given the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
