About Us

At Damen Workboats, we are a leading division within the Damen Group, consisting of several entities including an operating company and four shipyards. We specialize in the design, construction, and maintenance of workboats, offering a wide range of vessels for various maritime applications. The role
A Junior HR Advisor plays a foundational role within the Human Resources department of Workboats, supporting various HR functions and providing assistance to both employees, the HR businesspartner and the HR Manager. We are a small team of 3 in total including this role to support around 400 people in Gorinchem and having contact with our counterparts at the yards. A very diverse role in a fast changing organization. The role is ideal for someone early in their HR career who is eager to develop their skills and gain experience in a range of HR activities.
 

Key accountabilities

As a junior HR advisor, your main responsibilities are:

• Assist in campus recruitment and the recruitment process. We are growing and changing fast, so we need to have tight bonds with schools that help us finding the top talent to achieve our goals.
• Support onboarding processes for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the company.
• Provide day-to-day HR support to employees, addressing inquiries and escalating issues when necessary.
• Efficient and effective processing of personnel changes in the HR information system Workday for a part of the organization.
• Advise management regarding absence issues and maintaining the absence adminstration.
• Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
• Participate in employee engagement initiatives and contribute ideas to foster a positive work culture.
• Support the HR team with various projects and operational tasks as needed.

Skills & experience

As Junior HR Advisor, you have the following skills:

• You have completed a higher professional education (HBO) in HRM.
• You have 0-3 years of relevant work experience.
• You are eager to learn and are curious.
• You are proactive, take responsibility for your work, and are a team player.
• You like to think outside the box and come up with the best solution
• You can easily communicate with different stakeholders and ask questions to understand what is expected from you and others
• A good understanding of the English language, both written and spoken;
• Accurate, effective communication skills, both internal and external.
