About Us: 

Green Solutions is a young new innovative company in the Damen Shipyards Group, with a particular focus on supporting the maritime industry to reduce their environmental footprint. Our intent is to make a contribution to the environment now by addressing existing vessels, besides new builds and make them more fuel efficient. For that we are offering our own products, such as our Air Lubrication System, but for special projects we also offer in combination with third party technology, such as Carbon Capture or Wind Assisted Propulsion.   

The Role: 

We are seeking a dedicated lead Engineer to join our Engineering & Projects team. The ideal candidate is a proactive and innovative individual who can contribute to our company's reputation for quality construction and engineering. This role involves developing innovative solutions to complex problems, improving our current operations, and ensuring all projects meet our high standards of quality. 

Key Accountabilities: 

• Collaborating in the execution of the four phases of engineering: design check, basic engineering, detailed engineering, and production support; 

• Preparing technical space layouts, system diagrams, and outfitting arrangements; 

• Preparing technical specifications for systems and equipment; 

• Performing calculations in the Mechanical Engineering field; 

• Evaluating the load balance on vessels to install energy efficiency systems 

• Working closely together with all stakeholders; 

• Monitoring quality and helping interface and system integration with other disciplines and co-makers; 

• Supporting in the Client, Class, and National Authorities approval process; 

• Supporting the coordination of the outsourcing of work to subcontractors. 

Skills & Experience: 

• Degree in Maritime Engineering or related field of expertise 

• At least 5 years of relevant work experience in the field of shipbuilding engineering 

• Proficient in software packages like AutoCAD, Rhino, and Nupas-Cadmatic.  

• Excellent communication skills in English and preferably Dutch 

• Demonstrated interest in innovation and openness to new technologies 

• Proven track record of working effectively in a team and planning and organizing work efficiently 

• Quality consciousness, practical approach, and results-focused
