The role

As the QA/QC Coordinator at Damen Naval, you coordinate the end-to-end QA/QC activities within the Production Department of Damen Naval. This encompasses drafting the test plan, the execution of onsite inspection and documenting continuous improvement opportunities. Based on these findings, you advise the management about product and process improvements. You also ensure the capacity of trained staff is available for conducting the Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) activities.

Key accountabilities
As the QA/QC Coordinator, your key responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating and ensuring the execution of all QA/QC activities in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan.

• Ensuring sufficient capacity of adequate QA/QC team members.

• Ensuring proper application of the inspection protocols and guiding the production teams and process owners about quality assurance matters.

• Creating, controlling, and updating the QA/QC processes.

• Prioritizing activities based on risk assessment.

• Ensuring availability of quality standards for Production and advising about its application.

• Advising Manager Production, Quality Manager, and Project Manager about QC status, QC issues, and quality process improvements.

• Initiating (cross-departmental) quality improvement sessions based on production remarks.

• Being responsible for the department-specific certification, e.g., ISO3834-2.

• Investigating (multi-project) trends on reported remarks and performing root cause analyses.

• Creating and maintaining production-specific and multi-project templates.

Skills & experience
To excel as the QA/QC Coordinator, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

• 2+ years of QA/QC experience acquired in the manufacturing (preferably shipbuilding) industry.

• Experience with QA/QC auditing principles related to ISO9001, ISO5817, ISO3834-2 and/or AQAP 2110 standards.

• Bachelor's Degree in a Technical study, preferably Maritime Technology or Naval Architecture.

• Good command of the English and Dutch language (written & verbal).

• Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.

• Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
