The role 

We are looking for a skilled ERP system architect who will actively and holistically lead the Damen ERP Platform template. At the heart of our ERP platform is SAP S/4HANA, integrated with lots of other applications for specific capabilities. The ERP platform is part of the Damen Enterprise Platform, consisting of Salesforce for CRM, Dassault 3DX for CAD and PDM, Workday for HRM, and IBM Maximo for EAM.  

As an ERP System Architect with expertise in SAP S/4HANA and experience working with SAFe, your role will be crucial in ensuring that our ERP platform is not only robust and efficient but also agile and responsive to the fast-paced changes in the business environment. Next to the ERP Product Team which you’ll be part of, you’ll work closely together with the Business Architects. They architect and consult on the operating model including the (ERP) technology, you’ll provide the more in-depth ERP knowledge on how to make the best of the ERP platform enabling the operating model.  

Key responsibilities 

Together with the Enterprise Architecture team and business stakeholders, design and architect an ERP platform with a core focus on SAP S/4HANA, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with business processes, and built with a configurable per business capability template. Furthermore, these are the key responsibilities: 

• Apply SAFe principles to manage large-scale ERP implementations and foster an Agile culture within the IT department; 

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions; 

• Evaluate and recommend enhancements to the ERP platform, focusing on the capabilities of SAP S/4HANA; 

• Lead configuration template, and optimization of the SAP S/4HANA environment; 

• Ensure the ERP system adheres to industry standards for system integrity, security, and data privacy; 

• Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including architecture diagrams and process flows with ArchiMate and BPMN 2.0 standards; 

• Provide mentorship and training on SAP S/4HANA and SAFe methodologies to the development team; 

• Monitor system performance, conduct regular system audits, and implement necessary improvements; 

• Stay updated with the latest developments in SAP S/4HANA, SAFe and architecture practices; 

Skills and experience 

We are looking for an ERP system architect with the following skills and experience: 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. 

• Certification in SAP S/4HANA and a thorough understanding of its capabilities, functionalities and business applications; 

• Strong knowledge of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and experience in leading Agile transformations; 

• Proven track record as a System Architect, with significant experience in ERP system design and implementation; 

• Proficiency in database management, SQL, and data analytics, with a focus on SAP HANA databases; 

• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills; 

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders from end users to executives; 

• Manufacturing industry experience
