About us

Damen Services is the service division within the Damen Group and delivers all the after-sales activities for the Damen portfolio with a prime focus on workboats and offshore support vessels. The division aims to be the strategic partner to deliver sustainable service and support during the lifecycle of Damen customer’s assets.

Damen Services has a global coverage with service hubs worldwide and its head office in the Netherlands. By providing excellent service with the initial delivery and throughout the lifecycle of Damen vessels , Damen Services strives for recurring customers for both new build and service. The primary focus is to further enhance the service portfolio on the Damen installed base and to add value to the market by utilizing knowledge of Damen vessels and their systems. Through our strategic global presence, we aim to be present as close to our clients as we possibly can, while ensuring that we continue to act as one Damen Services at all times.

The organization is based on a decentral management model, with area teams that are end-to-end responsible for selling and delivering services in their area. Area teams usually consist of a multidisciplinary team of commercial and operational roles, both in the head office and in the service hubs. A central governed part of the organization covers specialized commercial services, acts as an expertise and knowledge center on Damen service and provides operational, commercial and staff expertise in support of the area teams.

The role

As Field Service Coordinator you are responsible for the planning, coaching, development, assessment and deployment of Field Service Engineers.
In such a way that the quality requirements and delivery reliability of the department are met. In addition, timely provision of the necessary items which must enable the Field Service Engineers to carry out their work (Tools, Training, PPE).

Key Accountabilities

  • Assessing a request for staffing and deploy the right employees;
  • Managing/monitoring/guarding the deployment of these employees in terms of quality and planning;
  • Registering feedback from the field;
  • Co-monitoring the departmental budget in the area of tools and training;
  • Coordinating with all the teams within Damen Services; 
  • Evaluating project execution and checking for full completion (reports/claims);
  • Initiating and assessing improvements at product, service and process level;
  • Conducting performance and assessment interviews with, and contributing to the personal development of employees in such a way that the group of Field Service Engineers can continue to meet the current and future requirements of the customer.

Skills & Experience

  • Several years of work experience in a service organization, in the field of planning and a dynamic working environment;
  • Good command of the English language verbally and in writing, (and preferably also the Dutch language);
  • A pragmatic, persuasive Field Service Coordinator with a people-minded approach; 
  • Decisive and at the same time flexible in your way of working;
  • Able to influence, put things into perspective and also knows how to have the patience that is sometimes needed to achieve results;
  • Well able to manage expectations;
  • Technical specialist knowledge/experience is an advantage;
