The role
The Interim Team Lead Combat is assigned to the Damen Naval project to build the F126 Frigates for the team German Navy. The Team lead Combat leads a team of technical subcontract managers that manages combat system suppliers from all over the world, throughout all project phases including installation and verification for the F126 project. This results into a full integration of the groups combat systems on the F126. As these frigates are built in Germany, and suppliers are located around the world, this job required significant and frequent business travel and working abroad.
Key accountabilities
- Coordination, together with the team and the Combat System Integrator (a supplier) the integration of the F126 effectors into the Combat Management System.
- Coordination, together with the team and the platform engineering department, the system to platform integration of the effectors into the F126
- Taking responsibility for the delivery engineering services of the team.
- Leads and takes part in meetings with the customer, suppliers, the Combat System Integrator, and other Damen Naval internal (F126) departments.
- Manages the team resource planning and assures all members have the required capabilities, in close consultation with the Sub-project Lead Combat Systems and the line organization.
- Manages day-to-day work, as well as short- and medium-term planning of the team.
- Manages multiple internal and external parties (other teams/departments, vendors, subcontractors) to ensure performance quality, secures the execution and the synchronization of CS products and services.
- Ensures development, validation, availability and planning of CS engineering products and services within agreed schedules, required quality and cost limits.
Skills & experience
- 6+ years of experience in engineering & subcontract management acquired while working on complex, preferably combat, systems.
- Good command of the English and German language (written & verbal).
- Demonstrable experience in working in large, complex, multinational project environments.
- Understanding in a variety of engineering concepts (V-model) and practices.
- Available for significant and frequent business travel/work abroad.

- Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required. Candidates with EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
