HARPER PETERSEN offers a wide range of shipbroking and commercial chartering services of container vessels of all different sizes. Harper Petersen is located in Hamburg, Germany, with branch offices in Shanghai, The Netherlands and Singapore. The company is a Joint Venture of the asset and investment manager MPC Capital in Hamburg and the Zech Group, which merged their activities in shipbroking, chartering and commercial ship management under the traditional shipbroker brand name.

Your tasks:

• Liaise with owners, charterers, shippers, brokers, agents, and other stakeholders as required in order to charter a bulkcarrier! You will lead through the process of successfully concluding: Voyage charters, Trip time charters, Period charter parties, Industrial contracts (including contracts of affreightment)
• Work closely and maintain strong relationship among relevant owners and charterers in order to grow the business and make the match between the cargo and the ship.
• Key responsibilities include the ability to negotiate voyage or timecharter parties incl NYPE and GENCON CPs
• To visit owners, charterers, operators, brokers, agents and other key commercial entities to maintain good working relationships

Your profile:

• University graduate in Logistics or shipping or relevant education in shipping
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in dry bulk chartering
• Previous experience with maritime business software systems, such as AXSmarine
• Willing to travel regionally and internationally
• Existing client portfolio in the dry cargo sector; existing fixing track record
• Initiative to work independently and in cooperation with the German headoffice, seek for new customers
• Candidates are eligible to work in the Netherlands
