The apprentices will initially be based at Fraserburgh College Campus (NESCol) carrying out both classroom and workshop activities.

This will be followed by practical work experience at offshore wind farms, primarily in the UK, that feature MHI Vestas turbines.

Depending on the project location, the apprentices will either live on the offshore service vessel working on 14 days on/14 days off rotation scheme or will be transported daily from the company’s onshore base to the wind farm.

They will work in teams of between two and six persons and will be managed daily by the site supervisor.

Tasks include routine checks, scheduled maintenance and troubleshooting of the electrical and mechanical systems, and component replacement on turbines.
