Damen Sustainable Solutions

DAMEN Sustainable solutions is a new company within the DAMEN group. It is the designer and manufacturer of the DAMEN Emission reductions systems. With these systems NOx and particles emissions of Marine combustion engine are reduced significantly. DAMEN has been designing, testing and delivering these systems from 2016. Now it is time to further expand business on new builds, services, repair and retrofit markets and to take the next step with this company.

The role
As an (international) Commissioning & Service Engineer you are responsible for the successful installation and testing of the Damen Emission reduction system on board of the vessels. During the sea trails (SAT) the performance of the system is tested and finally presented to the customer and when required to the class representative. Instructions & training about the system is given to the crew. The system is part of international emission regulations therefore your role is to ensure the system remains up and running and regular maintenance is performed by you on the systems in operation. During the manufacturing of the systems you will perform Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of the mechanical and electrical components of the systems. All tests, such as FAT, SAT and service jobs are well documented by you after the job has been done. You are part of multidisciplinary team consisting of Sales, Technology Specialists, Engineering, Procurement & logistics up to commissioning and services. A small company where the entire team works closely together and act as one team. A training course to become a certified Engineer will be provided.

Key Accountabilities:

In this role, you will:

• Installation, commissioning and testing of the systems
• Preparation of projects (materials, tools)
• FAT of systems
• Maintenance & Service jobs
• Reporting FAT, SAT and service tasks
• Communication with customer, end users

Skills & Experience:

• A degree in shipbuilding, mechanical or electrical field, MBO – Secondary vocational education.
• Experience & knowledge about integration of mechanical and electrical installations;
• Experience reading mechanical & electrical engineering documentations
• Good command of English and Dutch, both written and spoken;
• Sufficient experience with various MS Office programmes.
