Damen Services is the service division within the Damen Group and delivers all the after-sales activities for the Damen portfolio with a prime focus on workboats and offshore support vessels. The division aims to be the strategic partner to deliver sustainable service and support during the lifecycle of Damen customer’s assets.

Damen Services has a global coverage with service hubs worldwide and its head office in the Netherlands. By providing excellent service with the initial delivery and throughout the lifecycle of Damen vessels, Damen Services strives for recurring customers for both new build and aftermarket service. The primary focus is to further enhance the service portfolio on the Damen installed base and to add value to the market by utilizing knowledge of Damen vessels and their systems. Through our strategic global presence, we aim to be present as close to our clients as we possibly can, while ensuring that we continue to act as one Damen Services at all times.

Our area teams are end-to-end responsible for selling and delivering services. Area teams usually consist of a multidisciplinary team of commercial and operational roles, both in the head office and in the service hubs. A central governed part of the organization covers specialized commercial services, acts as an expertise and knowledge center on Damen service and provides operational, commercial and staff expertise in support of the area teams.

Your Role in Our Evolution

As a Coordinator Project Procurement within the Supply Chain department at Damen Services,  you will lead and manage the procurement activities for an extensive Integrated Logistic Support project. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing the procurement of all project-related deliverables. This includes ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing, upholding quality standards, and meeting contractual obligations.

With a strong logistics mindset, the Coordinator Project Procurement will manage the complete logistics flow determining what needs to be shipped, where, and when, so that items arrive on time to meet customer requirements.
Close collaboration with a multidisciplinary project team based in both the Netherlands and the UAE is essential.

The Coordinator Project Procurement is expected to work hand-in-hand with team members across various functions such as engineering, finance, and production to provide a cohesive, efficient, and scalable project procurement strategy that supports successful project outcomes and drives long-term value for the organization.


In the longer term, this position reporting to the Manager Supply Chain, offers significant growth opportunities within the broader supply chain function. As the organization evolves, the Coordinator Project Procurement will have the chance to take on more strategic responsibilities.

This role is expected to fill 20 hours a week on the Integrated Logistic Support project, with the remaining hours preferably dedicated to operational project procurement for other smaller projects within Damen Services.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Develop and implement a procurement and logistics strategy aligned with the Project Management Plan's objectives, focusing on quality, cost, time, risk, and reputation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in the Netherlands and United Arab Emirates to determine procurement and supply chain needs for both project and vessel deliverables.
  • Maintain relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturers and key suppliers to ensure timely delivery of manuals, spare parts, tools, and training support.
  • Monitor procurement milestones in collaboration with the ILS Project Manager and relevant stakeholders, including logistics engineering, maintenance, supply, data support, and training teams.
  • Manage procurement budgets for all ILS deliverables, ensuring adherence to financial constraints while optimizing value.
  • Monitor cost variations and propose strategies for cost efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Identify and mitigate procurement and supply chain risks, including supplier delays, cost escalations, quality, and logistic issues.
  • Ensure all procurement and supply chain activities meet contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field, supplemented by Nevi course(s).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement project management, preferably in ILS  or defense projects.
  • Strong negotiation skills and assertiveness, with an independent, well-structured, and hands-on approach.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence others, coupled with a results-oriented mindset, analytical thinking, and effective leadership qualities.
  • Open to traveling up to 30% of the time.
  • Certification in Project Management is an advantage.
