The department offers a broad portfolio of services for the entire life cycle of a ship built by Damen. This includes handling warranty calls, providing training, supplying spare parts, providing maintenance and carrying out modifications and repairs. This is reflected in the behavior of its employees; they are always available, proactive, keep their agreements and always go the extra mile.

Within the Services department the question is always: How do we make it happen?

The role

As a Project Manager Services within Technology, Development & ILS, you are at the forefront of service provision. You have direct contact with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders during the execution of commercial projects (technical assistance, modifications, upgrades etc.).

You are responsible for the progress, execution and financial results of assigned projects. This includes, among other things, coordination and monitoring of the progress of engineering activities, production- and delivery planning for the benefit of our customers.

You will mainly be working from the head office in Gorinchem (The Netherlands), but will also get the opportunity to make some short travels and meeting your clients in person.

Key accountabilities

This is a good fit if you like to do the following:

  • Coordinate the progress of the project according scope;
  • Control (indirectly) the progress of production and of the warehouse and supervises projects with regard to production- and delivery planning, partly through coordination with the purchasing department;
  • Monitors additional work and is responsible for pre and post-calculations, the administrative processing, invoicing of projects and ensures proper completion and communication with all parties involved;
  • Ensure correct and regular coordination of delivery agreements with the customer and satisfactory handling in accordance with the contract.

Skills & experience

We ask our future Project Manager Services to come prepared with the following:

You have:

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering or similar;
  • Experience with contracts in English is desirable;
  • At least 5 years of work experience in a similar position, preferably with a technical background in the maritime sector;
  • Good commercial attitude, social and communicative skills, a team player;
  • Good command of Dutch and English;

  • Decisive and at the same time flexible in your approach;
