Damen Services is the service division within the Damen Group and delivers all the after-sales activities for the Damen portfolio with a prime focus on workboats and offshore support vessels. The division aims to be the strategic partner to deliver sustainable service and support during the lifecycle of Damen customer’s assets.
Damen Services has a global coverage with service hubs worldwide and its head office in the Netherlands. By providing excellent service with the initial delivery and throughout the lifecycle of Damen vessels, Damen Services strives for recurring customers for both new build and service. The primary focus is to further enhance the service portfolio on the Damen installed base and to add value to the market by utilizing knowledge of Damen vessels and their systems. Through our strategic global presence, we aim to be present as close to our clients as we possibly can, while ensuring that we continue to act as one Damen Services at all times.
The organization is based on a decentral management model, with area teams that are end-to-end responsible for selling and delivering services in their area. Area teams usually consist of a multidisciplinary team of commercial and operational roles, both in the head office and in the service hubs. A central governed part of the organization covers specialized commercial services, acts as an expertise and knowledge center on Damen service and provides operational, commercial and staff expertise in support of the area teams.

The Role
As a Sales Engineer Services, you will meet all the needs of our customers in the field of spare parts, logistics and common activities. Together with the account manager and sales manager, you will approach the customers in your region, each with their own expertise and targets. As Sales Engineer you are responsible for the entire part sales order process. You will be focusing on the Asia-Pacific region. The Asia-Pacific team is a small but highly motivated group, combining close collaboration with a shared drive to succeed in achieving our ambitious goals. As one of two Sales Engineers you will play a critical role in further developing our growth in a challenging yet diverse market.
Working together in a small team, we often take over tasks and responsibilities from each other, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to ensure our collective success as a team!

This is a good fit if you like to do the following:
- Active approach towards (potential) clients and inform them about the possibility of delivery of specific components;
- Within your region, you will be responsible for the proactive sales of spare parts;
- On a successful sale, you take care of the process by ordering materials and coordinating the logistics;
- Maintaining contact with both clients and suppliers about delivery times and prices;
- Performing accurately additional administrative work, such as building a dossier for each project;
- Keep track of the many projects running simultaneously;
- Cooperate with colleagues to strive for a better result every day;
Skills & Experience
We ask our future Sales Engineer Services to come prepared with the following:
You have:
- Preferably a completed MBO + level in a technical or commercial direction;
- Experience in a technical sales role preferable within a Service Department;
- Good command of Dutch and English
You are:
- Result-oriented, with initiative and management skills;
- Communicating effectively with team members and stakeholders;
- A pragmatic, persuasive Sales Engineer with a solid personality, fitting within a dynamic organisation with a hands-on culture;
- Decisive and at the same time flexible in your approach and works methodically;
- Able to influence, put things into perspective and also knows how to have the patience that is sometimes needed to achieve results;
- Well able to manage expectations.
